Why is it when people are asked how old their baby is, they say things like "18 months"? What's wrong with saying "One-and-a-half."? And when does it end? I've heard people refer to their child as 29 months old! No one would be offended or confused if they simply said "Two-and-a-half."
Before sending work off to the printer, there are several things to check to ensure the job will print correctly (and that the printer will work with you again!).
Programs like InDesign and Quark have something called "Package" or "Collect for Output" and what these do is gather all the files and fonts necessary for the printing process. They also check to see if all of the images use CMYK colors and warn you if any are using the RGB color profile, which is not compatiable with the printing process. They can also detect any spot colors that are in the file(s).
To avoid delays and printing issues, always check what you're sending out. Then check it again!
