Okay, this isn't so much a classic rant as it is an observation regarding women and men:
If there is a special event to attend, more often than not, women will go out and buy a brand-new outfit, which, most likely, will never be worn again.
What fonts to use on a web page has always been an issue for designers. It used to be that If a particular font that wasn't installed on the viewers' computer was used, a substitute font would be displayed. Of course, the substitute usually caused various oddities like bad line-breaks, odd spacing, or it just made the page look bad.
Alas, we designers have been freed - somewhat! There are now a multitude of free web-ready fonts that can be used, regardless of what the
viewer has installed.
Please don't ever do what I'm doing here - using three different fonts (four, including the second half of the title) in one section. But if you're designing a site, or if you're having a site designed, have a look at google's free web fonts (http://www.google.com/webfonts) to see what's available! If you don't see anything you like, there a several places to get free fonts, so poke around a bit and see what you can find.
