This month's rant is about 4-Way Stop Signs. Is it me, or are these making people dumber behind the wheel?
4-Way Stop Signs are almost everywhere, which is the problem. Now, at intersections where there are only 2 Stop Signs, people stop (sort-of), then continue through, thinking that the intersecting driver will stop! T-bone, anyone?

Sure, right below the Stop Sign it says ALL WAY or 4-WAY, but nobody reads that! Maybe they would if it was in a text message...

MONTHLYSAMPLE

This is a poster I designed for Hampton Theatre Company's upcoming show. Casting is not yet complete, thus the generic actor list.

DESIGNINGtip - CLARITY

This month's design tip is about clarity.
Design is all about communication, and communication works best when it's clear. Anybody live with a teenager?
Anyway, every design project is saying something (or so it should be!). So, the answer to the question "What is this project saying?" should be clearly defined at the start.
Now, the answer to this question might change as the project develops, which is fine, as long as the answer remains clear.
It's easy to get caught up in the technical details once a project is underway, so every once in a while, it's good to step back, look at the piece and see if it still answers the question - clearly.
